Early Cambrian Evaporite Deposits in the North China Craton and Their Event Stratigraphic, Paleogeographic, and Paleoenvironmental Implications

•Systematic synthesis on geographical and stratigraphic distributions of Early Cambrian evaporites in the NCC.•Stage 4 (ca. 514–509 Ma) age constraint on these Early Cambrian evaporites in the NCC.•Regional stratigraphic correlation of these evaporites-bearing strata in the NCC.•Reconstruction of paleogeographic position of the NCC in Cambrian Stage 4 based on evaporites.•Hot-arid environment influenced the survival of benthic organisms in the late Early Cambrian.
