摘要

•Drone-borne GPR can be deployed to measure shallow freshwater bathymetry.•To efficiently map bathymetry, the flight altitude should be limited to 0.5 m.•Bathymetry measured with drone-borne GPR showed an accuracy better than 0.1 m.•GPR outperformed sonar in measuring bathymetry of shallow vegetated waterbodies.
