Highly efficient shrimp shell recovery by solid-state fermentation with Streptomyces sp. SCUT-3

•SCUT-3 SSF has high processing capacity with the shell liquid ratio of 1:4.•92.6% protein of SSW was recovered in the form of FAAs and low MW peptides.•92.0% calcium was recovered as calcium lactate with no Hg and Pb residue.•All chitin was recovered with high purity, high acetylation rate of 90.5%.•This cleaner method is 20% cost,10-fold profit and 1.08% EF compared to traditional one.
