Acrylamide Content of Industrial and Traditional Popcorn Collected from Tehran’s Market, Iran: A Risk Assessment Study

•This study was conducted simultaneously on both industrial and traditional popcorn samples.•Acrylamide was detected and the level of acrylamide was significantly higher in traditional popcorn than in industrial popcorn.•EDI was calculated as 0.3 for traditional popcorn and 0.12 µg/kg bw/day for industrial popcorn.•MOE of neurotoxicity and carcinogenicity indicated a potential risk to health.
