摘要
•Supplemental LED lighting improved physiological and biochemical characteristics in roses effects on quality of cut flowers.•LED lights with 150 and 75 μmol m−2 s−1 PPFD created an exclusive environment with a robust association among targeted features of cut rose flowers extended the postharvest life of ‘Jumilia’ and ‘Samurai’, respectively.•MH and HPS lighting decreased the membrane stability index and increased the color change, resulting in shorter postharvest life of roses compared to the LED environment.•LED-exposed cut rose flowers limited the increased antioxidant enzyme activity, decreased lipid peroxidation, and oxidative stress.•Supplemental LED lighting reduced water loss and inhibited bacterial proliferation combined with changed PAL activity and lignin content improved postharvest longevity.
