Investigating the associations of acute psychedelic experiences and changes in racial trauma symptoms, psychological flexibility, and substance use among People with Racial and Ethnic Minoritized Identities in the United States and Canada

•Psychedelic treatment may reduce mental health and substance use problems.•People of Color (POC) are underrepresented in psychedelic research.•We investigated the impact of psychedelics on substance use outcomes among POC.•Psychedelic use was associated with reductions in alcohol and other drug use.•Racial trauma symptoms and psychological flexibility were significant mediators.
