Sarcopenia is a disorder of old age characterized by loss of muscle mass, strength, and function. Sarcopenia is linked to neurodegeneration, cognitive decline, and dementia, including Alzheimer's. The underlying causal mechanisms linking body and brain outcomes are largely unknown.
