Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is highly prevalent and comorbid with other mental disorders and is associated with various clinical symptoms. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has been used to investigate this disorder, but findings among primary studies have been inconsistent and difficult to interpret.
