摘要

•Sulfamethoxazole (SMZ[I5].H2O) and sulfadiazine (SDZ2[I4]) polyiodide salts were obtained and characterized.•They were tested against microorganisms with antimicrobial resistance.•(SMZ[I5].H2O) shows an enhanced antimicrobial activity in comparison with unmodified sulfonamide.
