Advanced Hp-Refinement Methodology for Singular Solutions in Frequency-Domain Computational Electromagnetics

Abstract
We present a multi-level anisotropic hp-refinement methodology for frequency-domain computational electromagnetics, based on a refinement-by-superposition approach. The methodology is applied for a higher order finite-element 2-D eigenvalue analysis of waveguides. Our methodology drives perfect exponential convergence with respect to the number of degrees of freedom for the accuracy of singular solutions, whereas the conventional alternative yields only algebraic convergence.
