Switching LPV Tracking Controller Design for Longitudinal Motion of Aircraft with Uncertain Scheduling Parameters

This research proposes an output-feedback longitudinal control for aircraft in a big flight envelope based on switching linear parameter varying (SLPV) control. We firstly transform the longitudinal dynamic model of aircraft into a typical LPV model, wherein both airspeed and attack angle are selected as uncertain scheduling parameters due to measurement errors or noises. On this basis, a SLPV controller is designed in order to not only guarantee the aircraft to track the desired maneuvering motions, but also to robustly address the uncertainties associated with scheduling parameters. The switching rule with modified average dwell time is employed and the convex conditions for each parameter subsets and switching surfaces are proposed. Rigorous stability analysis is provided, and the comparative simulations have been also presented to verify the performance and superiority of our designed method against conventional SLPV controller and LPV controller.
