Evaluation of challenges for the sustainable oxygenated fuel industry in India

The focus of the chapter is on the economic, social, and environmental challenges faced by the oxygenated fuel industry. The major goal is to identify the prominent challenges that are hindering the attainment of sustainability in the oxygenated fuel industry. A Grey decision trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) methodology is employed for understanding the contextual relationship between challenges. The use of grey systems theory with a DEMATEL approach can be effective, since it can integrate uncertainty and vagueness in the evaluation process based on judgments. The chapter also presents a few strategies that can be used go guide decision makers in formulating policies for the effective elimination of barriers for the sustainable growth of the oxygenated fuel industry.
