摘要

•A concise naphthalimide fluorophore NAP-H2O was constructed and presented significant aggregation induced emission (AIE) property in water.•The NAP-H2O can be used for quantitative detection of water content in common organic solvents with low detection limits.•The NAP-H2O was successfully fabricated as test papers for fast and naked-eye detection of water in organic solvents.
