Photonics and Optoelectronics of Nanosystems (advanced Optical Materials 14/2022)

With this special issue, we would like to celebrate the 60th birthday of Prof. Jochen Feldmann, a world-renowned scientist on optical spectroscopy of nanosystems (see also the Guest Editorial, article number 2201394). This front cover illustrates the interaction of light with a nanocrystal to reveal the nature of optical excitations and its photocatalytic performance. Exploring new materials and investigating their optical properties and applications has been an important research direction of Prof. Feldmann. His work and enthusiasm have inspired many young researchers working in his group and beyond.
