Endoscopic-endonasal extraction of an ectopic tooth located in the left nasal cavity – a case report

We report the case of a sixteen-year-old female patient with an ectopic intranasal tooth located in the inferior nasal meatus of the left side. The tooth was an incidental finding on a dental panoramic x-ray, made at the orthodontist to plan a fixed retainer. The patient didn’t have any symptoms like nasal obstruction, nasal discharge or epistaxis. After discussing the case with our collegues from the maxillofacial surgery-department, the ectopic tooth was removed with an endoscopic-endonasal approach. The surgery was completed without further osseous or mucous trauma. The patient is symptom-free up to this day.
