Study on the Timeliness and Maintenance Mechanism of Dust Suppression Performance of Microbial Dust Suppressant

Microbial dust suppressor (MDS) is the green method, but the timeliness and maintenance mechanism of its dust suppression performance are not clear. Herein, the timeliness of the wind and rain corrosion resistance performance of MDS treated coal dust were studied, and revealed the mechanism of maintenance. Results showed that MDS could be divided into three stages: the initial stage of dust suppression (3–5 d), the peak stage of dust suppression (5–15 d), and the decay stage of dust suppression (15–30 d). In addition, the crystal morphology, pore characteristics, hardness, thickness and water repellency of coal dust consolidation body changed correspondingly with the extension of mineralization process. The principal component analysis (PCA) and redundancy analysis (RDA) showed that the coal dust consolidation characteristics were significantly correlated with corrosion resistance, in which hardness, thickness and water repellency had a significant effect on the corrosion resistance.
