•PSB nanosystem efficiently targets ascitic tumor cells.•Cu SAZ have high POD activity and produce free radicals to kill tumor cells.•SO2 gas therapy consumes GSH and enhances Cu SAZ catalytic therapy.•After PSB treatment, the ascites in mice were significantly inhibited.
