•New DI-SPME UHPLC-MS/MS methodology for the quantification of PAEs in bottled water.•The in-labmadeCIM-80(Al)-SPME fiber was successfully used reducing costs.•CIM-80(Al)-SPME fibershowssimilar resultsto those obtained with commercial fibers.•Efficiently applied over bottled water with great sensitivity, accuracy and precision.
