摘要

•Hydrogenation transforms stanene from a zero-bandgap quasi-metal to a direct bandgap semiconductor.•Shear deformation can effectively tune the bandgap of stanane.•The shear deformation of the stanane structure causes a red shift of the absorption and reflection peaks.
