摘要
Gamma Knife Radiosurgery (GKR) is one of the established methods of globe salvage therapies for uveal melanoma. It involves the use of a single large fraction of radiation which is stereotactically directed to the region of interest to obliterate the lesion. The primary advantage is preservation of the globe, with complete or relative sparing of the visual function. GKR also serves as a precious resource where brachytherapy is contraindicated. It has yielded promising results in terms of local tumor control. However, it is not free of complications. Further research is needed to validate its outcomes over other methods of treatment.
