Clinical Audit On Immunonutrition Practice Following Severe Trauma In Intensive Care Units (ICUs) Of National Hospital Colombo, Sri Lanka (NHSL)

Rationale: There are many factors responsible for the outcome of the patients with severe trauma in the ICUs. Nutritional state and nutritional care during the ICUs are key factors among them. Early and proper nutritional interventions including improvement of nutrition practices, update knowledge of nutrition supportive staff and continuous supply of nutritional products are major pillars of nutritional care. Nutrients such as Arginine, Glutamine, Omega 3 fatty acids, Selenium, Zinc, Vitamin C, E and nucleotides that enhance the immunity of the body are called immunonutrition.
