Application of hydrogen mechanisms in combustion simulation of DLR scramjet combustor and their effect on combustion performance

•The modified SST k-ω provide good simulation results for combustor with turbulent round jets.•The three hydrogen mechanisms with good kinetic performance well characterize the combustion characteristics of DLR combustor.•The excited species are low in content and have neglectable effect on the combustion characteristics under present condition.•Present work has reference significance for the selection of hydrogen kinetic mechanisms and turbulence models.
