摘要

•Cerium, Nickel and their corresponding CeO2/NiO nanocomposite material was fabricated via urea-assisted solution combustion synthesis.•Strong antibacterial activity of Cerium, Nickel, and CeO2/NiO nanocomposite was achieved.•CeO2/NiO nanocomposite material exhibited high photocatalytic activity against the degradation of methylene blue dye.
