What are the strategies to manage megaproject supply chains? A systematic literature review and research agenda

•Systematic literature review of supply chain management in megaprojects, connecting the Project Management and Operations Management domains.•A total of 2,106 abstracts were analyzed and 94 papers were fully reviewed, identifying six categories of strategies.•The Megaproject Supply Chain (MSC) framework provides a structure to understand the multi-level configuration of supply chains and relationships across nested levels.•The MSC framework presents five levels and unit of analysis: the micro, meso, and macro, and two additional hybrid levels, the mesomicro and mesomacro.•Four research avenues are suggested to advance the management of megaproject supply chains through multi-level explorations.
