摘要
Anticoagulant-related nephropathy (ARN) was first described over 13 years ago as warfarin-related nephropathy (WRN). A cohort of patients on warfarin therapy with increased international normalized ratio developed acute kidney injury.1 Kidney biopsy in these patients showed acute tubular necrosis with red blood cell (RBC) tubular casts. The number of RBC casts and the degree of acute tubular necrosis were higher than the glomerular injury or disease, and this discordance could not be explained based on the biopsy findings alone.
