摘要

•Co-xCe/AC catalysts were prepared for the synthesis of mixed higher alcohols.•The synergistic effect of Co0 and Co2C are responsible for the C2+OH alcohols.•The total alcohol selectivity depends on surface oxygen vacancies.•The Co-7.5Ce/AC catalyst shows the excellent performance for the alcohols synthesis.
