Impact of insufficient recovery of cerebral blood flow due to partial reperfusion on the pathophysiology of ischemic stroke in mice

•Pathophysiology of partial reperfusion was different from permanent occlusion.•Partial reperfusion delayed neuronal degeneration with increased apoptosis.•IgG extravasation was inhibited in partial reperfusion.•Intravenous FITC-dextran could reach the infarct region with leakage.•il6 and il1β mRNA was less produced in partial reperfusion.
