The association between interpersonal factors, barriers to mental health help-seeking behaviors, and persistent depression disorder among Latinx and Black youths

•Persistent Depression Disorder (PDD) is a milder and difficult-to-identify form of depression.•Perceived burdensomeness was associated with PDD among Latinx and Black adolescents.•Female identity was associated with PDD.•Targeting perceived burdensomeness could reduce the likelihood of PDD among Latinx and Black youth.
