Clinical Outcome in Patients With Early-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer Treated With Surgery or Radiation in the Absence of Prophylactic Cranial Irradiation: A Single-Center Retrospective Study.

Data are lacking regarding the benefit of PCI in early-stage SCLC. Although the sample size in this study was too small to draw any conclusions, the findings add to the ongoing dialogue regarding the importance of PCI in this patient population. No difference was identified in survival and cancer recurrence in patients who received either surgery or SBRT in the absence of PCI.
