摘要

Frailty is among the leading reasons precluding providers from prescribing necessary anticoagulants to older patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). AF outcomes including stroke, silent cerebral infarcts, and other cardiovascular diseases (CVD) can precipitate frailty. However, it is unknown if AF is an independent risk factor for developing frailty. We hypothesize that AF is associated with a higher risk of frailty independent of comorbidities.
