摘要
In this paper, the mechanical and physical behavior study of hybrid aluminum metal matrix composites has been carried out. Aluminum 7175/Si 3 N 4 -based hybrid composites have been developed by infusing MoS 2 and Si 3 N 4 particles via vacuum-assisted bottom pouring stir casting technique. Mechanical and physical behavioral synthesis was carried out by varying weight percentages of Si 3 N 4 (0–9%) and MoS 2 (3, 5 and 7) particles as reinforcement. Apart from mechanical and physical behavioral evaluations, the microstructural features were investigated. The microstructural analysis showed a grain refinement with the addition of reinforcing content. The hybrid composites results exhibited micro-hardness, tensile strength and compressive strength with 7 wt% of Si 3 N 4 and 5 wt% MoS 2 . The density of HAMMCs was also improved by 2.77% as compared to monolithic base alloy. During the micro-hardness evaluation of cast samples, influence of variation in indentation load and dwell time was examined.
