Calculation of Temperature Field of GIS Disconnect Switches Considering Contact Resistance

Gas Insulated Switchgear is an important device in power systems and is widely used in power systems. However, this equipment is prone to internal overheating, which can lead to major faults such as short circuits, and therefore requires a study of its temperature rise. In this paper, for 110 kV GIS disconnect switches, considering the influence of contact resistance, the contact resistance is equated to a rectangular circle, and the temperature-fluid field coupling simulation is carried out by applying convective heat transfer coefficient to the enclosure, and the temperature distribution and SF6 fluid distribution of each part of the GIS disconnect switch are obtained. The results show that the hot spots of GIS disconnect switches are mainly concentrated in the contact resistance position, and the flow field distribution shows the flow pattern around the contacts.
