Leptin levels in childhood tuberculosis and its correlation with body mass index, IFN-γ, and TNF-α in an Indonesian population

•Children with tuberculosis have been observed to have low leptin levels, which can be detrimental to the host immune system.•The relationship between leptin, IFN-γ, and TNF-α in pediatric patients with TB is not yet fully understood.•Our study proved that in pediatric patients with TB, there is a correlation between body mass index and leptin levels.•And a weak correlation between IFN-γ and leptin levels, and no correlation between TNF-α and leptin levels.
