摘要
Tourette disorder is a childhood-onset neurological condition that can lead to impairment in social, school, occupational, and familial domains. The biobehavioral model of tics provides a strong theoretical foundation that helps inform effective treatment. Behavioral therapy, which includes habit reversal training, comprehensive behavioral intervention for tics (CBIT), and exposure and response prevention, is the gold standard treatment of tic disorders, with support from empirical evidence and practice guidelines. A case vignette that demonstrates CBIT in practice and ways to overcome challenges associated with treatment is also provided.
