Highlight Review Boron-containing Triangulenes and Their Analogues: Synthesis, Properties, and Applications

Triangulenes are attracting tremendous interest due to their unique structures and appealing properties. However, the low stability of triangulenes under ambient conditions has hampered their further development. The incorporation of boron into triangulenes has been demonstrated as an effective strategy for both improving the ambient stability and manipulating their properties. In this review, we summarize the developments in boron-containing triangulenes and their analogues, including their synthesis, properties, and applications. We expect that this review will bring more interest in the chemistry of boron-containing triangulenes and promote their future applications.
