摘要
The mechanical properties of materials greatly influence the efficiency of their structures during operation. Therefore, understanding of these properties are important for design engineers. The low density metallic materials such as magnesium alloys are in demand of construction industries for manufacturing lightweight structures of improved performance. In this paper, a comparative study on the tensile behaviour of three magnesium alloys AZ41, AZ61 and AZ81 is presented in the strain rate range 0.0001–0.1 s−1 at room temperature 25 °C. Effects of aluminium content are observed. Flat specimens of the alloys are tested on a universal testing machine of capacity 250 kN. Curve fitting method is used to evaluate the existing Johnson-Cook material model.
