Analysis and Design of Electromagnetic Wiping System for Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Wire

In this work, the feasibility of electromagnetic wiping technology in hot-dip galvanizing process of steel wire ropes is analyzed in theory and experiment. A method of wiping the zinc layer of the passing steel wire rope by the traveling wave magnetic field is proposed. The application in actual process and the effective wiping force are considered. The effect of voltage, voltage frequency and load resistance of the devices on the magnitude of the wiping force is investigated, with other factors held constant. The theoretical and experimental study helps to solve the problem of productivity and wiping effect of hot-degree galvanizing of wire ropes and provides theoretical support for the design of electromagnetic wiping system.
