Speed and Torque Estimation in Induction Motor Through the Analysis of Stray Flux Signals

Induction motors are elements of great importance within the industry due to the large number of applications they have; because of this, their monitoring is essential to ensure the correct performance of the tasks. Several methods have been created for the estimation of speed and torque in these machines, many of these methods use sensors that are invasive to the motor or require taking it off-line to perform a series of tests to obtain the necessary parameters for its estimation. The present research proposes a methodology for the estimation of speed and torque in induction motors through the analysis of stray flux signals obtained in a non-invasive manner and the information provided by the manufacturer on the data plate of the machine. Preliminary results show a speed estimation with an error of less than 0.2% and a methodological proposal for torque estimation, as well as clear prospectives to improve the methodology to obtain better results in torque estimation and to generalize the method by testing the algorithm with different machines.
