Exploring gender euphoria in a sample of transgender and gender diverse patients at two U.S. urban community health centers

•Transgender and gender diverse (TGD) people experience mental health inequities.•Gender euphoria (GE)—positive emotions in gender—may encourage positive mental health.•GE differed by race, gender, insurance, and hormone use.•GE associated with reduced gender dysphoria and alcohol misuse, and increased resilience.•GE may be a promising mental health target for TGD peoplee.
