Histopathologic Correlates of Semantic and Quantitative Radiomic Features of Hepatic Lesions

Medical imaging has witnessed significant advancement in the past 2 decades. Many of these advancements have revolutionized the field of liver imaging and allow for non-invasive characterization of different liver pathologies . The role of imaging in this field has evolved from lesion detection into lesion characterization and prognostication. Multiple semantic and quantitative imaging biomarkers have been introduced in the field of liver imaging, many of them being used in daily practice, which allow for a more robust assessment of different liver pathologies. The histopathologic correlates of many of the imaging biomarkers used in liver imaging are reviewed in this article.
