Raytracing-Based Simulation Platform with Efficient Doppler Embedding for Integrated Sensing and Communication

Recently, Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) has gained attention as a potential candidate for 6G technology, with significant interest surrounding the issue of channel modeling. This paper proposes, for the first time, a simulation platform based on raytracing (RT) that incorporates detailed and realistic target motion animation, RF environment configuration, OFDM RT, and ISAC algorithm-based signal processing. While RT offers the richest environmental variables compared to other channel modeling methods, it incurs high computational costs. To address this issue, an efficient Doppler embedding approach has been proposed, resulting in a tenfold reduction in computational expenses. The analysis of Doppler-time data indicates that the proposed simulation platform and methodology are capable of accurately detecting human motion, exhibiting performance similar to that observed in the 5G mmWave prototype testbed's actual measurements.
