摘要
The medical and psychological complexity of patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) participating in cardiac rehabilitation (CR) has been described, yet the health status of CVD caregivers is frequently overlooked. This study investigated the physical and mental health status as well as the pharmacological and psychological service utilization of spousal caregivers of patients with CVD. The results indicated that caregivers were physically, but not mentally, healthier than patients. Potential gaps in care for spousal caregivers, as suggested by low utilization of support services, are also highlighted. Screening programs and support services within CR may help prevent caregivers from themselves.
