Identification of Peptides of Periplaneta americana L. Extract CII-3 by Nano LC-MS/MS

. As an insect species, Periplaneta americana L. has increasingly attracted the attention of re-searchers in both basic and applied research. CII-3 contains diverse peptides with a variety of functions. How-ever, no methods have focused on its high throughput analyses. In the present study, a nano liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry-based peptidomic study was employed to fully explore the deep diversity of peptidomic profiles in Periplaneta americana L. extract CII-3. A total of 571 peptide sequences were discovered and 329 precursor proteins were identified, which were the first to be manifested in CII-3. In addition, with the help of Uniprot database, bioinformatic analysis of precursor proteins, which was composed of Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), was constructed. This mapping not only hopes to establish a targeted assay for the target peptides, but also provides indispensable peptides information for future studies on quality standards and quality control of CII-3 and its related preparations.
