Design and Optimization of High-Speed Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors for Electric Spindle Systems

High-speed permanent magnet synchronous motors possess several advantages including high speed, small size, and high power density. These advantages make them extensively utilized in numerous civilian and military applications, including compressors, machining, aerospace, and new energy vehicles. This study involves designing and analyzing a high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor for a 44kW electric spindle system. Moreover, the segmented skew pole and stator skew slot are compared and analyzed. A normalization method for cost functions based on genetic algorithms has been proposed for solving multi-objective optimization problems. This normalization method optimizes both torque output and torque fluctuations under load conditions.
