Design of a Broadband Mode Converter for G band TE02 mode Gyro-TWT

A study of a broadband mode converter for a G band TE 02 mode gyro-TWT was presented. In the designed mode converter, the radius had been changed with an inhomogeneous period. By using this, a TE 02 mode could be converted to TE 01 mode. The simulation results indicated that the bandwidth is 16GHz with the conversion efficiency is greater than 95%.
