Long-term Incidence of Myocardial Infarction and Death After CABG and PCI for Isolated Left Anterior Descending Artery Disease: A Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

•It has been suggested that CABG may be associated with long-term reduction in MI secondary to salutary benefits of CABG in bypassing proximal nonobstructive vulnerable plaques.•The present meta-analysis suggests that in patients with isolated LAD disease, long-term risks of MI and death are comparable after CABG and PCI.•Our results do not suggest a reduction in MI with CABG for isolated LAD disease but do show an increased risk of target vessel revascularization with PCI.•A heart team discussion should be pursued to ensure optimal treatment for these patients.
