Lipoid pneumonia presenting as lung mass following accidental diesel ingestion: An interesting case

Lipoid pneumonia is a rare form of chemical pneumonia, typically associated with the aspiration of lipid- based substances like diesel. The typical radiological findings include bilateral lung consolidation, ground glassing, and crazy paving pattern on computed tomography scan. Rarely it may present as an appearance of a mass-like lesion on imaging, but this presentation is very unusual in acute onset disease. Here, we present a case of lipoid pneumonia which mimicked malignancy on imaging due to the appearance of a mass-like lesion on CT scan, but showed drastic improvement with steroids.
