摘要
The lack of information and clinical cases reports available regarding IVF treatment with donated oocytes together with the difficulty of accepting this new possibility represents an obstacle for patients to engage in treatment. Therefore, this study objective is to develop the first Brazilian educative portal on egg donation and measure the impact and demand this website. The study was divided into four stages: 1) descriptive quantitative study (222 participants); 2) qualitative study (22 participants); 3) construction and validation of an educational portal; 4) evaluation of portal access and demand. Data collection, analysis, portal construction and validation were carried out from January 2017 to April 2020. Participants were women and heterosexual couples undergoing IVF treatment with donated oocytes. Quantitative research: through information from the clinic database. Qualitative research: through an electronic questionnaire for educational portal construction. Portal validation was made by seven health judges and its quality through Google Lighthouse program. Portal access was evaluated, from January to December 2022, using Google Analytics tool. The accessed data were recovered and variables as time spent on portal, the most access portal page, city of origin, age and sex, type of device used and the recurrence percentage were analyzed. We identified that 37% of patients undergoing IVF treatment with donated oocytes are 40-44 years old, 79% had ovarian failure diagnosis, 84% received fresh eggs and 81% did not undergo preimplantation genetic testing. The questionnaire confirms the lack of information available about egg donation and highlighted the feelings derived from treatment and the lack of experienced patient’s report. Based on the patient’s needs, we develop an educational portal with up-to-date articles, local legislation, listen and read testimonies from patients who have gone through treatment. Portal validation index was grade 1 in objectives, structure and presentation and relevance. Regarding portal impact, 5605 views were observed. The most accessed page was about the disclosure to the child. Almost 40% of the views were from 5 Brazilian state capitals, between the nine cities with highest access number four are cities where the study clinic has activities and 1 is from Europe. About portal visitors: 68% were female and 31% were male, 43% of the portal visitors were between 25-34 years old and 32% has more than 35 years old. Additionally, 63% of the viewers access the portal via cell phone, 56% of them found the portal through organic search and the recurrence percentage was 47%. The lack of information and clinical cases reports on egg donation treatments makes acceptance difficult, highlighting the importance of an educational portal. The expressive number of website accesses, as well as the characteristics of accesses, highlights the growing need for information and how it can improve their treatment acceptance and experience.
