Access to palliative care and association with readmission rates in patients with ovarian cancer

Palliative care takes an approach to improve the quality of life in patients with a cancer diagnosis. It has been shown to alleviate symptoms and, in some studies, even extend life. Palliative care has been shown to increase rates of structured end of life discussions and reduce invasive care at the end of life. The objective of this study was to describe the association between palliative care consultations and readmission rates in patients with ovarian cancer.
