34679 Association of adult atopic dermatitis severity with decreased physical activity: A cross-sectional study

In multivariable logistic regression models controlling for age, sex, race/ethnicity and asthma history, patient-reported global AD severity, Patient-Oriented Eczema Measure (POEM), Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI), and Investigator’s Global Assessment (IGA) were associated with itch impairing light, moderate and vigorous physical activity, and higher Patient-Reported Outcome Measurement Information System Itch Questionnaire Physical Activity T-scores. Higher objective Scoring AD (O-SCORAD) was associated with itch impairing moderate physical activity. In bivariable analyses, odds of performing ≥30 minutes of light physical activity ≥1 day a week were lower with increased patient-reported AD severity, POEM, and EASI scores; ≥30 minutes of moderate physical activity ≥1 day a week were lower with increased patient-reported AD severity, EASI, O-SCORAD, and IGA; ≥30 minutes of vigorous physical activity were lower with increased patient-reported AD severity, EASI, O-SCORAD, and IGA scores. In multivariable logistic regression models, increased impact of itch on physical activity was associated with lower odds of performing light, moderate, and vigorous physical activity.
